I personally think they should allow the transport industry to run on red so we can compete with the euro firms.
And then whack up the price of diesel an petrol by double for the general public.
Reason, price the motorist off the road maybe then they won't use their car for stupid little journeys like the 2 mile round trip to school at 8.30am, Another benefit of this is it would help the obesity problem with lazy adults and fat kids. Plus its better for the enviroment less cars less smog and less congestion.
Yes i do have a car small economical well maintained, only ever use it for work though or long journeys.
Good points m8. Although I think that my petrol should be free of charge.
eh? Good points, hows that gonna work?
[1] Its not just price that we fail against the Euro companies. Its the fact that most of our produce is imported and the EU companies that are local can give the required level of service. Unless of course you can envisage thousands of UK trucks heading for the ferries to pick up Yoghurts from Germany, Onions and Peppers from Spain, Holland for flowers and Ham etc. ?
[2] Now that most 'High Streets'have gone you have no option but to travel to a superstore/supermarket. So now its gonna cost double?
[3] And when the kids mother can't make it into work she either hires someone to take the kid to school costing more money or asks her employer for 'flexi hours', probably putting her employer at a disadvantage against erm, ..competition from cheaper EU counterparts !!
[4]It would definateley help the environment if there where less cars on the road , that is un arguable. Not so sure it will help the obesity problem though, it will just make the poor stick out as they will be skinny and only the rich will be fat.
[5] I know he has a small car, but he eats Kebabs and fatty bacon sarnies, drinks like a fish and then rides it all off on his bike !!
I'm guessing he posted this when he was drunk !!!
Anyway, like you say, good points !!!
