Runcorn - Hi Jack:

A silver Mercedes stopped in front of his victim’s lorry on a roundabout on Chester Road, Preston Brook, near Runcorn. A male, dressed in black, walked towards the lorry & opened the driver’s door. Under threat - the trucker was forced to curl up into the footwell of his cab. The Offender then drove the rig to a convenient and demanded the driver get out of the nearside door, where a second offender man-handled to the roadside.
The driver was then bundled into the back of a waiting White Van and driven around for approx. 2 hours, before being released in North Wales - where the shocked driver managed to flag down a motorist and contact the Police.
The rig was later found abandoned in Cadishead, Greater Manchester. Its complete load of branded clothing products was stolen.
With such a thin driver account of the theft, Police appeal for anyone driving on the Chester road, who may have witnessed the initial affray. As important is to receive information on storage/selling of the stolen load.Cheshire Police 0845 458 0000, Manchester Police 0161 872 5050 or contact Truckpol.

here is some advice,it will happen so fast your head will be spinning, by the time you have worked out whats going on it will be over. you will be trussed up like a xmas turkey, thinking wtf went on there.
how do i know ? one of our drivers running out of manor park runcorn for business post in a scanny topline pulling a decker got hijacked going to brum on a trunk in 2005. ex squaddie infantry he was switched on, ex iraq, blah blah blah, said they took it of him like takin sweets of a kid,got the truck back found in knowsley empty, got the driver back after he had been takin on a joyride.
if it happens to you just give them what they want.
you wont have time to be a hero and you will get no thanks of anyone for being a hero.

some videos and info here http://www.trainforlife.co.uk about being aware and what hi-jackers do

Hope the driver was okay and not hurt in any way. Unfortunately we don't really think it can happen to us but it does and like everything else it happens so quickly you really don't have time to think and as far as being a hero there are too many dead heroes out there for me to be one. As Driving is a solitary profession we are easy targets for the scum. What can be done to deter these toerags from targetting trucks and defenceless drivers very little I imagine from past experience. There is a demand for stolen goods these days and thats usually from the general public and they don't care how they acquire their designer labels or their nice cheap tvs etc. It is a sad indictment on our society that such things matter so much to the man in the street and it can only get worse. How many of you would buy knock off gear if the price was right and thats what feeds this growing industry of robbery and theft and ultimately puts drivers at risk. We were talking about this last week after my mates wife spotted knock off booze at a car boot sale and we couldn't come up with any kind of idea of a real deterrent against these robbers. What is the answer?
